All people were created to be in community. This is especially true for Christians. The Bible says in 1 Cor. 12:27 that we are the "body of Christ." The body has many diverse members, but we make up one cohesive unit that is more efficient if we're helping each other and there for each other. Being in community with others helps us grow.
We've named our small group ministry THRIVE because we feel strongly that to go beyond just surviving in our Christians lives, to really thrive, we need to be in community with other believers.
Thrive Small Groups meet every other week (Sept. thru May) in different homes around town. We have what are known as 'sermon based' small groups. Our discussions revolve around the text preached that morning in church. We talk about how the passage applies to our lives and we dig a little deeper into the Word to learn more on the subject. It's always a great time- and there's always good food involved!
If you'd like to learn more about Thrive Small Groups, drop our Small Group Director, Ed Martin, a line anytime- he can fill you in on all the details and get you plugged in. (firstname.lastname@example.org).
